Cord Moving Helps Feed The Hungry - Move For Hunger

Blog

At the 2011 northAmerican Agent Convention in Myrtle Beach, NAVL was able to raise nearly $40,000 for Move For Hunger, a non-profit organization that encourages moving companies to fight hunger by bringing customers’ unwanted food to local food banks. Given the current economy, it’s estimated that 1 in 6 Americans is unsure where their next meal will come from.  In our industry, we all know firsthand that, when people move, they throw out a lot of “stuff”—including pounds of non-perishable food that could feed families in need.

Cord Moving has helped by enrolling in the Move For Hunger program, where Cord’s Associates simply ask our customers to set aside any unwanted non-perishable food items as they’re preparing for their moves, and make an occasional visit to a local food bank to deliver the food our agency has collected.

North American Van Lines is one of the largest van line partners of Move For Hunger and Cord Moving and Storage with locations in St. Louis, MO  Belleville, IL and Memphis, TN along with 22 fellow agent locations are enrolled. North American is proud to announce that in addition to our $40,000 donation, in our first year of partnering with Move For Hunger, we have collected 1,301 pounds of food at events and in our customers’ homes. This True Blue spirit has fed 1,000 people!
