Meet Our Military Partners - Cord Moving and Storage Company

Blog

Cord Moving and Storage, agents for North American Van Lines located in Saint Louis MO, Memphis TN, Belleville MO and Dixon, MO. proudly support the men and women serving our country and are honored to partner with nonprofits aiding active military, wounded war veterans, transitioning service members and military families. This Military Appreciation Month we want to take the time to highlight two of our partners who are doing amazing things for the military community and express our gratitude for the supporting role we are privileged to provide in their efforts.

The Gary Sinise Foundation – R.I.S.E Program

In 2011, Gary Sinise established the Gary Sinise Foundation with a mission to serve and honor our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders and their families. Through the R.I.S.E (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment) program – one of their nine key programs that show their gratitude for our heroes – the Gary Sinise Foundation builds specially adapted smart homes for America’s severely wounded veterans. Each home features automated amenities to ease the daily challenges these heroes face. northAmericanâ agents and drivers are involved transporting specially selected furniture donated by the Jim and Linda Shubert Foundation to the forever homes of Gary Sinise Foundation’s smart home recipients. 59 specially adapted smart homes will be completed or underway by the end of 2017 with additional specially adapted smart home construction projects being added to the program for 2018 and beyond. The USO

For more than 76 years, the USO has been the nation’s leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side. The USO, which continuously adapts to the needs of our men and women in uniform and their families, operates more than 200 locations around the world, including in combat zones. To donate to the USO or learn more about the nonprofit, go to https://www.uso.org/partners/northamerican.

Our partnership with the USO focuses on expanding support for service members transitioning to civilian life through employment opportunities, local northAmerican agent involvement and providing expertise to transitioning service members during their moving experiences. To build our new partnership, we are proudly honoring our military through the Every Move Matters Campaign. Through December 2017, we will donate $100 from every move booked through www.northamerican.com/uso – up to $100,000 – to help support service members during their transition to civilian life.
