Cord Moving and Storage Reports Memphis-area home sales have slowed significantly from the previous year’s pace, but the average sales price remains high.

According to the Memphis Area Association of Realtors most recent sales data, August saw home sales decline 24.7 percent from August of last year. Sales were also off nearly 12 percent from the previous month. However, the average sales price is up 11 percent from Aug. 2013 to $161,191. This has a direct impact on the relocation industry reports Mr. Gary Lee the General Manager for Cord Moving and Storage from his office in Memphis, TN.

“Pricing remains at healthy levels,” said MAAR President Greg Glosson, in a news release. “Total sales are down and part of it may be that we’re moving out of the summer selling season and part of it’s the reduced number of bank sales.” Nonetheless, Cord Moving and Storage an Agent for NorthAmerican Van Lines continues to find ways to boost their sales and service with strong leadership in the community and willingness to be innovative.
