Wayne Daniels is the new senior vice president of sales and marketing for Cord Moving & Storage Co., based in Earth City. A Michigan native, he’s spent the last 10 years in the Atlanta area in a senior post with McCollister’s Transportation Systems.
How is the economy treating Cord?
We’re challenged with homes being foreclosed, homes not being sold. Fortunately, we’re diversified into commercial moving. And we do electronics as well, computers and data centers, and shows and exhibits for museums.
We also have a records storage company.
You worked in a family business?
Before Atlanta, in Detroit, I was president of my wife’s dad’s moving business. We sold it for personal reasons. We had over 100 employees and 50 were related to each other, so after too many Thanksgiving dinners being ruined....
What’s your passion?
My passion now is to promote customer service. I want to start an internship program, get young folks back into our industry and reinstill customer service skills that have faded.
